After the oil spill of approximately 131,000 gallons of oil on the Orange County coast all the beaches in Huntington Beach have been reopened to the public. Huntington City Beach, Huntington State Beach as well as Bolsa Chica State Beach were all reopened to the public on Monday at 6 am.
Previously local residents and visitors were allowed on the beach but the water and shoreline were closed but now everything is fully opened. Testing up and down the beaches will continue but for the moment everything looks positive. That being said i remember the last time there was an oil spill on the beaches of Huntington Beach occasionally you would still find small tar balls for many years.
